I watched Jack Nicklaus play his last competitive hole in a major this afternoon, and it actually brought tears to my eyes. This is the third time this has happened to me... The other two were the retiring of Willie Mays, and the firing of Tom Landry.I guess Jack meant so much to me because of the memories I have watching him compete in the different stages of my life. He won the Masters in 1986 when he was my age (46) by shooting 30 on the back nine at Augusta, and won his first Green Jacket in 1963 when I was 4. He won his first US Open in 1962 when I was 3 years old and his last 2 weeks before I got married in 1980...
